Advance Construction continues to dig the 3.5 acre Irvine Detention pond at the SE corner of Omro Road and N. Oakwood Road. As seen from the road, the size and depth of the pond is very impressive. The pond will handle a large portion of the stormwater that will be collected when Omro Road is completed. This pond is also sized sufficiently to address any new residential and commercial development that will one day take place in that area. A short stretch of Owen Lane off of Omro Road will be built this month to access to the property. A walking path is being constructed around the pond that will connect to the sidewalk on the south side of the road. Other amenities are also being considered to make it a relaxing place for residents and visitors to enjoy. The pond is scheduled to be completed in early August with final landscaping, installation of amenities, and wetland restoration being completed in late fall. A webpage on the Town’s website has been created for updates on the pond’s status.
