With very flat topography, high water table, and constant sump sump discharges, Town ditches and drainage easements often hold water for much of the year. To help with drainage, now is a good time to clean out the debris in your ditch and drainage easements. This includes litter, dead grass, cattails, as well as balls and sports equipment that can lodge in the culverts. Please remember, all ditches and drainage easements are owned by the Town. As a result, any grading, laying of plastic pipe, filling, or planting of vegetation within them is not permitted without permission from the Town. Please contact the Town before manipulating your ditches and drainage easements. Whenever possible, Town staff can offer assistance with your drainage problems.
