The completed detention pond encompasses approximately one acre. The approved Certify Survey Map (CSM) is provided below. The detention pond is necessary to treat stormwater that flows from the Olde Apple Acres development. Stormwater is routed south through the dry pond and drainage easement located between Sheppard Road and Charlie Anna Drive and then south on the east side of Welsh Haven Drive to the Jones Detention Pond south of Omro Road. Much of the stormwater flowing into the detention pond will be captured by the storm sewer infrastructure that is being installed once Omro Road is reconstructed. More specifically, Jones Pond will capture stormwater on a stretch of Omro Road from Leonard Point Road to just west of Cambria Court. Treated water from the pond will outfall to Honey Creek via the ditch on STH 21 and will eventually flow into Honey Creek Pond. This project is outlined in the Town’s 2018 Stormwater Management Plan.
Construction of the pond was completed in August 2020. The plantings and landscaping was finished late summer 2021. The area will be reseeded again in the spring of 2022.
