Walking Path Around Irvine Detention Pond

October 20, 2021

The public is encouraged to use the gravel walking path circling the Irvine Detention Pond. There are areas next to the path that will be finished next spring, so please be careful when walking on the path. In addition, please keep your dogs on their leash at all times and clean up and properly discard of any pet waste. This area is not a dog park. Also, there is private property to the south and southeast of the pond and is not for public access and use. The Irvine’s still live in the farmhouse south of the pond and want to maintain their privacy.

      Greetings Mary:

The Irvine Detention Pond is located south and east of Oakwood Elementary School. It was built for stormwater management to help comply with the Town’s water quality permit. The final landscaping to include the planting of trees is scheduled for late spring. However, the public can use the path that circles the pond.
