Past due payments are subject to interest and penalties. You may check the total amount owed online through Winnebago County’s website.
How to Pay
Paying in Full & First Installment Payments Payments made by January 31
Only payments made on or before January 31, 2024, are payable to the Town of Algoma.
Please note:
- Cash is not an acceptable payment method.
- Credit card, debit card, and e-check payments will incur a service fee.
- Returned checks will incur a fee of $20.00.

Payments will be accepted in person at the Town Hall only during the designated dates and times listed here.

Payments made February 1 and after
Any tax payments made February 1st or later – including second installment payments – must be made to Winnebago County.

Refund Policy
Refunds over $3.00 will be mailed to the individual(s) listed on the tax bill.
Additional Information
When you renew your fire insurance policies, file a state income tax form, or apply for vehicle license plates, include the Town of Algoma as part of your address. This information may increase our town’s intergovernmental revenues and may protect you from paying unauthorized fees.
