The Algoma Fire Department has committed to serving the residents and property owners in the Town of Algoma for over 80 years. The department is located at 2622 Omro Road. The Town of Algoma Fire Department currently has 19 firefighters, 9 firefighter/EMRs , and 3 EMRs who respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls.

Along with providing fire protection and emergency medical services within the municipal boundary of the town, the fire department has mutual aid agreements with neighboring communities, including the Omro-Rushford Fire Department and provides staffing for the City of Oshkosh during large fires within the city. These agreements are part of MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System). The agreements help ensure no one department is being depleted of all their resources, apparatus during one event and can also respond to other calls as necessary. Burning Permit
A burning permit can be acquired from the Algoma Fire Department for larger burns. In addition, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources does limit burning when the conditions are not safe. Visit the WDNR Website for more information, and please be mindful of others when starting and tending to a fire.
