Cart Supplier Change

Starting in 2025, the Town of Algoma is transitioning from pre-purchasing, storing, and supplying Toter-brand garbage and recycling carts (the brown and blue ones you see throughout most of the Town) to utilizing Harter’s cart service.

While Harter’s carts are not owned outright by residents, the one-time fee of $115 per cart covers the following:

  • Delivery and assembly of the new cart(s)
  • All maintenance, repairs, and replacements due to damage caused by Harter’s OR from normal wear and tear
  • Removal and disposal of your old cart (if needed)

If you currently have functional Toter carts, there is no change. You own the Toter carts and can use them indefinitely.

New or Replacement Carts

You can order new or replacement carts through the Town using the online order form linked below. Harter’s will deliver your new cart(s) directly to your home. All orders placed and paid for before 2 pm on Tuesdays will receive their cart the following Wednesday or Thursday.

A one-time fee of $115 per cart covers the following:

  • Delivery and assembly of the new 95-gallon cart(s)
  • All maintenance, repairs, and replacements due to damage caused by Harter’s OR from normal wear and tear
  • Removal and disposal of your old cart (if needed)
