Snow Removal Considerations

January 9, 2024

Now that winter has arrived, please note the following ordinance considerations:
* Do not blow or push snow from your driveways or parking lots into the roadway. Piles of snow in the roadway are dangerous for drivers and pedestrians. It can also cause damage to property if the plow trucks launch ice chunks into cars and buildings.
* Do not push snow from your driveways or parking lots into the ditches across the street. The piles of snow in ditches will cause localized flooding once the snow begins to melt.
* Sidewalks are to be cleared and treated within 24-hours at the conclusion of the snow event.
* Do not park on streets during or after a snow event to allow the plow trucks to clean the roads.
* Do not place your garbage and recycling containers in the roadway to allow for the trucks to clean the roadways.
